From the city where Bears sometime go in the streets by night...

Hi folks !

You know what, i am comfused... i am writing on a French keyboard 1st time since... i don't remember... and it so difficult to find the good letters !

Oh yes, i write from Brasov, from Raluca's PC which was baught when she was Erasmus in Paris a few years ago.

So, what to update on my blog since last post. The itinerary and impressins of course.

Last Tuesday i left Stefania and her parents in the early morning, around 8, when everyone was going to school or to work. Under the rain...

I took the main road to reach Sibiu, road 1, and made just a very few stops. One for another monastere, one for my "accident" (it was raining, the road was a bit tiny at this moment, a guy had stopped his car to answer a phone call just 60 meters before a parking area, and a police car arrived from befind saying loud that a very big truck was comming and we had to make space for it - i had already had them passing me by, and i had passed in front of them after, so i knew what was happening even if i did not really understand the words... - so i passed the stopped car and tried to go on the very right side of the road after it, sooooo right that.... i went into the edge limitting the side of the road from the river.... Hopefully i was nor going very fast because my breaks did not really work... then i bumped into the edge and my whells did not get really damaged, just a very little bended! ), and a few oned to drink. No possibility to take pictures, nothing to enjoy under the rain. No willing to stop to eat sandwitches...
So I arrived in Sibiu around 2:30, ate, tried to meet Alex my host, bumped into Gizza (from the Valpovo camp) and finally went to Alex's place for 4:30, let him go to school an in the meentime i did put lots of my stuff to dry because rain or the water used to clean the dirt from the panniers, had entered most of them...

After this episode, i staid a few days in Sibiu.
Wednersday to visit the city by myself (andbuy some special wool socks, a waterproof cloth of a 1 peace for trousers and jacket, and a mattress for the isolation in the tent), and have a missed meeting with George fron Bucarest, and Thursday to chill out home then meet Andrei, help him with the wine preparation, and recieve his help to change the breaks on my bike. In the evening we finally met George and Andrei invited me to come to his home next day to finish the general checking on my bike, which i accepted with pleasure.

So Friday morning i went with all my stuff to Andrei's place with the idea to leave around midday, but the weather was so cold and snow was falling, so i asked him for hospitality and staid with him the full day, finising the work with the wine and checking lots of things on the bike, even re-installing the front tjings to fix my paniers, in order to have then really horysontal, which was a hard work and needed to drill some holes in the metal parts used originally, and also needed to cut some other metal parts, which i could never have done with my own tools. After checking all the bike i could leave 2 of my tools to Andrei as they were for no help on my bike, and have this way, maybe 150grams less to carry, to compensate all my previous shopping ;)

So on Saturday i left Sibiu on a sunny but freezing cold day, to fo to Agnita and see some of the German villages with castels and fortresses, and have my 1st night of camping under really cold conditions. With the mattress and with keeping nearly all my clothes on, the night went perfectly well.
And in the morning of Sunday, as the usual sheep were waking me up, i could see that it was raining and that i was going to test my just baught rain clothes!

After this day i can say that it seems to be great for rain under the cold as the rain does not go inside, as it protects from the wind, and as it helps keeping warm inside, with a bit of sweat accumulated inside but.... for 21 lei (5 Euro) it cannot be a perfer clothes...

So here i am, in a student's dormitory, ready to have a shower and enjoy a calm evening in front of a movie....
