Lapland...

There it is. I did spend a week or so up there in Lapland...

On saterday, with Stephanie, we started hitch hiking with full energy, at 9 am or so. Time passing, and so few cars were passing... none stopping... so at midday and somethink we decided to take the bus, to Kilpisjarvi, very north of western Finland, a place with 3 borders: Finland, Norway and Sweden.

Arriving there at 6om we went for a coffe at Helena's place, a lady Stephanie had met before.

Then we went for a 'midnight walk' to the Saana mountain, 1023m i think.
We had some beautiful weather, but cold wind. Must have been 5 C degrees up there, no more.

The night went by camping, and the morning started quite late as there had been a bit of rain and it had not hellped to get up.

Around 12 we went fot hhiking to Norway, and as we were abandonning and going way back to Finland, a guy, jo, took us and we could go with him to Kauteikino, Norway, a 2000 inhabitant 'town'. Before we also spent a night camping around a lake, and fishing and eating the fish cooked on a bone fire. We enjoyed the place, visited the shops and museum, then hhiked for 4h without real success, in order to go to Muonio. Just 1 car stopped but could take 1 person only....

So we spent the evening with an Austrian couple who were blocked in town because their car needed to be repaired as they were on their way to North Capp.

We then went to sleep in one of the houses of the open air museum and on Tuersday we took a bus at 9:40 to arrive in Muonio at 13:55.

We spent the afternoon prepairing the girl's hiking (as Tula arrived at 2:50pm) and using the free internet of the tourist info.

Then we met a CS from there, had a quite evening in a house.

Wednersday morning the girls went for they hiking, and i tried to hitch hike south before taking a bus to Oulu where i spent an evening with Henna eating vegetarian and having a beer.

Today i wanted to hhike to Vaasa, but after 3h on the motorway i was asked by the police to move away...
I was then drived to a petrol station, then to the end of the motorway, then had 3 more short lifts but ended taking the bus in Kuitti to go to Kokkola. Here i'll take a bus to Vaasa to arrive there at 2:20...

Tomorrow ferry to Sweden!
