Izmir, thanks to a bus !

After a day trip on the peninsula of Canakkale, european part, and the remains of an horrible battlefield even if this battle has been called by the historians the war of gentlemen.... i had a sunday of rest :

- Visit of the city center and the open air museum with a ship which is a copy of the on which installed the mines in the sea, mines which destroyed lots of ennemies´ ships on the 1st part of the battle. Museum with lots of cannons too, from the ships or from the otoman fortress.
- Visit of the turkish bath, with a sauna part too ! So great when the weather is rainy and a bitcold. The only missingthing is the open air swimmingpool... we are not in Budpest :(
- Visit of a flat with the Spanish friend and his roomates, to prepaire
Polish food known by most of us a Lithuanian food : there potatoes and onions cut in small and mixed with egg and floor, then fried in a pan.

Next day, monday, as the rain has passed and the sun wanted to shine, i hit the road again to go to Assos. But i did not make it straight.
After leaving at 10:30 in the morning, riding through the fills for 80km or so, i just had 10km extra to do but... night was comming.
So the best hill i found between the sheep and the fields closed to keep the sheep inside, was meant to be the one i´ll camp. I only saw next day that... next hill would have been the one with the great view on the sea....
The night between the sounds of bells brom the animals and the mosque in the evening and morning, was long.... and a bit cold. For sure in the morning i could see frost on the grass, and on my tent !

Tuesday, i arrived in Assos around 10 in the morning, then spent 3 full hours walking around the amazing site. Even if lots of parts of the site are away in museums in Paris, London or wherever, the Athena temple up there, the only one in Anatolia, is on a really nice spot...
I then had a lunch with a cow friend, a basic sandwich lunch as no börek nor pide were available in the gohst city (we are out of the touristic season...), then went back on the tarmak. Only for a few km and a stop along the coast, in an olive tree field, with fishermen on their boats looking at me... (in Kutcukkuyu)

Then today, waking with a great sunlight but seeing clouds covering it soon after... i was feeling like... ´do i really want to cycle to Izmir?´
So this question turned into ´how and where to get a bus to Izmir?
And this became... let´s take the bus in Alcay... for 21 TL including bike of course, coffee and cake in the bus, and wireless in the bus...

So here i arrive in Izmir terminal station, in the middle of highways, and had to ride on the highway to reach Ege university in Bornova district where i met Lilli and Faz who i will stay with for a few days...

I will just end these words by a Merry Chrismass to you all.
In here it does not feel like back home, but some trees are around with decorations, some shops are red and white... the feeling of Christmass is not completely absent!
